Real African Women
is a partnership between Obaasema Magazine (www.obaasema.com) and GNEP that will be launched in April 2010. R.A.W. is a series of real discussions that allow African women to come together to discuss issues pertinent to their experiences as African women growing up and living abroad. R.A.W. is about personal growth; it will invite college students and professional women to participate in these discussions with the hopes of unleashing a more confident, yet vulnerable African woman.
Discussions will be held 3 times a year during the months of May, August and December. Join in on the discussion by joining our Facebook Fan Page.

Sista-2-Sista Youth Summit
The Sista-2-Sista Youth Summit was launched in 2008 and is an annual one-day summit that empowers 125 young women of Pan-African descent to reach their full potential by engaging them in panel discussions, workshops, live entertainment, and reflective activities. Utilizing a 3 step-process of self-awareness, self-appreciation, and self-actualization, these workshops and panels equip the students with fundamental tools to make well-informed decisions today and in the future.
Sista-2-Sista Chat Sessions
Sista-2-Sista Chat Sessions is a by-product of GNEP’s annual Sista-2-Sista Youth Summit. The Chat Sessions provide high school girls of Pan-African descent with the opportunity to engage with professionals on issues such as self-image, healthy relationships, overcoming fears, career planning, college, etc. through interactive workshops. GNEP partners with schools and community groups to offer 5-week, 1-hour Chat Sessions. GNEP is currently working with Christopher Columbus High School in the Bronx.
Get Lifted Mentorship Program (GLMP)
The GLMP provides mentorship to a select group of young women from their freshmen year in high school through the completion of their senior year in high school. The program provides the young women with one-on-one mentorship, interactive workshops, outings, and worldly experiences to ensure that they are well-rounded individuals that can adequately compete with their peers. The program also seeks to inspire the young women to give back to others in their communities by sharing the information that they have learned. The workshops focus on self-awareness, self-appreciation and self-actualization, with the sole intent of empowering the young women to make well-informed decisions about their futures.
The participants in the program will travel to Ghana, West Africa during their senior year to embark on a life changing experience in the Motherland, which includes a service learning project at a local elementary school.
Meeting of the Minds (MofM)

These conversations will cover various topics including relationships, education, careers, defining ones passion, balancing family and career, and financial planning. The first MofM will launch in June 2010 and the remaining conversations are scheduled for October and February.
